About Me

The Liberal Democrats have chosen me Dennis Livingstone as Nuthurst Candidate in 2019 district elections

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Liberal Democrat candidate. I will explain my connection to the ward, where I come from and try to inform you of my hopes and aspirations for our community, which I hope will align with yours.

I have lived in the district with my wife and children for over 40 years with the last 20 years residing in the Nuthurst ward. Our area of villages and hamlets is very special to me and my family. My objective is to protect its rural charm and at the same time help it to develop to support local residents, businesses and farming.

I’m a time- served apprentice engineer and I have progressed over time to become a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. I’ve been a design engineer on many large engineering projects around the world.

You may also catch a glimpse of me in Copsale Village Hall as I’ve been chairman for 10 years. I’m the guy wearing the green apron doing the washing up in the kitchen during the bacon buttie mornings.

In the past I’ve not been the type of person to stand up at the front, I prefer to be in the background working hard to put my effort into making a success of whatever I’m involved with. But the council’s disregard for the residents of Nuthurst ward means I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to stand to become a District Councillor. I promise if I’m elected to put all my effort into providing the best outcome for our beautiful rural area.
